Ted Stubblefield is a retired U.S. Forest Service professional with 38 years of experience in forest management, fire operations, and national forest leadership across the Western United States. His career progressed from early fire crew supervision and timber management to senior leadership roles as Forest Supervisor on multiple national forests, where he oversaw complex land management, resource stewardship, and agency operations.
Biography
Thirty-eight years in the US Forest Service, primarily in the Western part of the country.
Served as a Supervisor of Fire Crews during summers while attending Humboldt State College, graduating with a BS Degree in Forest Management in 1964.
Worked primarily in Timber Management for eight years on the Sequoia NF. In addition, I Iocated the Pacific Coast Trail through the eastern edge of the Sequoia NF; Inventoried the upper length of the Kern River for “Wild River status,” and Lead Snow Surveys for six years in the Sierra Mountain Range.
In 1974 I became District Ranger on the Ukonom Ranger District, Klamath NF, before working in the Region 5 Regional Office, carrying out formal field reviews and instructing.
In 1979 I became Forest Timber Management Officer for the Siskiyou NF, and later became Acting Forest Supervisor.
In 1985 – Forest Supervisor on the Olympic NF.
In 1991 – Forest Supervisor on the Gifford Pinchot NF until retirement in ’99.
