Phil Aune is a retired forester with more than 50 years of experience in forest science, silviculture, and natural resource policy across the Western United States. His career spans research leadership, land management, and public policy, with a long-standing focus on forest health, wildfire resilience, and science-based decision-making.


Biography

Philip was the Research Program Manager of the Forest Service’s Redding Silviculture Forest Science Lab from 1987–2000 capping off a 37- year Forest Service career. He then went on to serve as Vice President of the California Forestry Association from 2000-2005 and from 2006 to 2012 was a consulting forester for the American Forest Resource Council in Northeast Washington where he lives in the Spokane, Washington area.
